Can I Bring Food or Drink on a Cruise From a Destination?

Answer:
Bringing food or beverages onto a cruise ship from a destination
is usually not a problem, and many cruise passengers buy local specialties at their stopovers. Depending on which country the food was purchased in, you might not be able to take the food off the ship and get it through customs.

Your travel agent can probably help you with that question if you are wanting to bring edible souvenirs home to your loved ones. However, if you're bringing snacks for the duration of the cruise (although this is probably unnecessary – cruise ships have more food on them than some small countries), that should not be a problem.

One thing that you are not allowed to bring onto the cruise ship is alcohol. This is partly for legal reasons- just like restaurants, cruise ships have the ability to stop serving you alcohol is they feel that you've had too much. They do not want passengers able to drink so much that they cause a danger or a nuisance to other passengers. Also, just like any restaurant, cruise lines want you to buy their alcohol. Many passengers try to smuggle alcohol onto a cruise ship, but it's really not worth the hassle, or the embarrassment of being caught. It is usually much easier to have the alcohol shipped to your home when you buy it.
