What is an All-Inclusive Resort?

Answer:
An all-inclusive resort incorporates all of
the separate expenses typically encountered during a vacation (housing, meals, beverages, entertainment, etc.) into a single pre-paid charge for the guest. Many vacationers prefer the essentially money-free lifestyle offered by an all-inclusive resort over the pay-to-play aspect of traditional hotels and tourist destinations.

An all-inclusive resort comes very close to being the "paradise on Earth" many vacationers envision.  An unlimited supply of refreshing beverages can really be delivered by a cheerful staff member to guests relaxing on the beach.  Gourmet meals are served at least three times a day, along with the option of informal snack foods or alternative theme restaurants located in the resort itself.  Amenities such as sports equipment and personal transportation can be obtained with a simple signature.  Rooms in an all-inclusive resort are usually the equivalent of high-end hotel rooms located anywhere else.  Knowledgeable staff members can provide directions to local tourist destinations, or arrange for guided excursions with experienced guides.  An all-inclusive resort may also provide free nightly entertainment for guests, and local vendors often set up a temporary bazaar for guests to peruse.

The price of an all-inclusive resort may sound prohibitive at first, but when you take into account the individual cost of similar services and amenities, an all-inclusive resort's fees may seem reasonable indeed.  Sometimes the actual per diem cost of an all-inclusive resort in popular tourist destinations such as Aruba or Jamaica is surprisingly low, but the transportation costs to and from the island (generally not included in the resort's quoted price) can be substantial.  A travel agency or online travel website may be able to offer a cheaper arrangement if the travel and resort fees can be combined as a package deal.
