Utah has many different kinds of outdoor activities In the winter, Utah offers up a number of excellent skiing opportunities, including Snowbird, Alta, and Park City. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are also popular in the Utah Rockies. As the weather warms up, enjoy the Great Salt Lake or hiking along mountain trails. Mountain biking is another popular activity throughout the mountains. Also in the spring and fall, visiting the many national and state parks is an enjoyable pastime. Bryce National Park, Zion National Park, and Arches National Park all lie within a day’s drive of each other. Moab, near Arches, also offers some of the best mountain biking in the world – all on red rock surfaces. The nearby La Salle mountains offer camping, hiking, fishing, hunting – and even more mountain biking. Cedar City is known for its summertime Shakespeare Festival – outdoors – along with Brian’s Head ski resort at the top of the nearby mountains. As you continue south, St. George is set among more beautiful red rocks and offers its own unique hiking and camping experiences. The entire state is filled with fun all year-round.
