Which is better, St. Thomas or St. John Virgin Islands? |

Answer:
There are several things you should consider when choosing So before you decide which is better or the right choice for your vacation you need to ask yourself these questions. 1. Is price a determining factor? 2. Do I want to experience the touristy areas or do I want the culture? 3. Do I want to rent a home or stay in a resort? There are some very valid questions you may ask for each of your destination vacations but seeing that I've been to both St. Thomas and St. John and I know the differences I can tell you that answering these three questions will answer your question. If price is a determining factor then you should definitely check out St. Thomas. St. Thomas is quite a bit cheaper with regards to home and resort rentals. This may have to do with the size of the island. In comparison, St. Thomas is a larger island with more residents where St. John is a small island with less residents and more of a tropical resort feel. So price wise, St. Thomas is more affordable. If you want to experience the touristy areas such as popular beaches, tourist shopping and activities then St. John is the right choice. St. John has some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. While St. Thomas is amazing compared to most US beaches it really doesn't hold a candle to Trunk Bay in St. John. Trunk Bay is very secluded, you take a taxi ride way around the island and end up at one of the most tropical beaches on the planet. It is quite busy but the traffic doesn't seem to harm the appearance. If you want to rent a home I would recommend St. Thomas. Seeing that there is more availability do to the size of the island the prices and options are better. St. Thomas and St. John have some pretty amazing resorts as well but having your own swimming pool and kitchen really make a difference.
